In Australia, the digital technology curriculum for kindergarteners to year two have data collection as a central learning concept within the digital technology landscape. It’s purpose is to showcase one of the many possibilities that digital technology provide.
And what better way to explore data collection then to connect it to the sustainability and our planet. By looking at how data can be collected around the moisture level of plants we can transfer digital system knowledge to real-world practices.
In this tutorial, I’m using the micro:bit computer and the Microsoft MakeCode drag and drop coding platform. Micro:bits are awesome. They are cheap and cheerful and you can do lots of projects with them.
